Yael Pardess, production designer
Yael Pardess started her theatre design career in Israel where she designed sets and costumes for all the majors Israeli theatres and worked with leading directors such as Hanan Snir, Ilan Ronen, Micha Levinson, Shmuel Hasfari, Gadi Rol and Uri Paster. She is excited to be part of the Jerusalem festival. She now lives in LA and has worked in many Los Angeles and regional theaters. Her designs were seen on Broadway, London West End, Mark Taper Forum LA, The Guthrie MN, ACT SF, Oregon Shakespeare Festival OR, ART Cambridge, Hartford Stage CT and many more. To name a few productions: Blade to the Heat, Richard the II, Scenes from an execution, Stand Up Tragedy, Macbeth, The Cherry Orchard, Julius Caesar, Death and the Maiden, George Gershwin Alone, many of them award winning productions. She has collaborated with directors such as Joel Zwick, Oscar Eustis, Tom Moore, Assad Kelada, David Lee, Kristofer Tabori, Robert Egan , Jo Bonney, Seret Scott and Ron Link.
She recently worked with Placido Domingo on an Original Opera Dulce Rosa performed at the Broad Stage in Los Angeles.
Yael designs for the Theme Park industry where she specializes in immersive multi media shows for History Museums and Parks in the US and around the world. Her clients included Disney, Universal Studios, Paramount and many theme park design companies. Among her projects: Immersive shows for The WW2 Museum in New Orleans, Bob Bullock History Museum in Austin, Texas, and The Lincoln Library in Springfield, Illinois, (all multiple award winners), as well as a Universal Studio show in collaboration with Steven Spielberg.
